East Peak vs. Elk Point

This may be interesting for you.

This peak has been known as Elk Point for well over 100 years. The USGS map still labels Elk Point, but unfortunately the words "Elk Point" aren't as close to the summit as it should be.

Anyway, all old sources label this peak as Elk Point, including old maps, newspaper articles and old books (such as Kelner's old Wasatch Tours book). One of those newspaper articles is actually in Kelsey's book on Page 201-202. The point where the person fell was actually at 10,500 feet which was off East Peak/Elk Point rather than the place where Elk Point is currently on the USGS map.
