Oy!

This is a fantastic shot Noondueler! Reminds me of my first trip to the valley in spring of a very heavy rain year about 10 years ago. Full of green and flowers, 70 degrees, and hard to imagine it was ever a desert.

Nice!

Re: Oy!

Thanks Chad. This was on my first trip to DV and it was an awesome year for flowers as was '05 when Badwater became Lake Manly again. Must have been close to a foot or so deep out there for a while. If you missed that one you can see a shot of it on my "Wahguyhebe Jebes, A Death Valley Saga" trip report page.

Re: Oy!

That was it. My first trip there was in March of 2005 I think. I remember the lake... whole valley floor was under water. I was so disappointed because I wanted to see the salt pan! I'd never seen one at the time. I didn't realize until later the lake appears only every 50 years or so.

Following that I made an annual trip every November for several years. Plenty of salt pan to see then!
