Looks like many options all a short hike to each. Nice photo!
Yeah, think I'd hike down to the lake and have
all the skeeters chew me up!
Yea, I didn't notice the month being August. That's one insect we could do without!
The mosquitoes get a lot better by August there most years, but I still carry the bug dope.
Bob is an animal climbing in his sandals.
Yes, and the skeeters seem to keep a respectable distance away from him!
Do ya feel lucky, Mister Mosquito? Well, do ya? ??
Since the predatory mosquitoes are female (I'll resist the easy swipe) and most sensible females take great pains to avoid me, it is actually quite safe being with me in mosquito country.
That is funny. My friends love climbing with me because I attract those infernal beasts and leave my friends unscathed. It's got to be the only instance when females have found me irresistible.
The Deep Woods Off usually does the trick for me, that and sprinting.
The sandals are nice for hiking and climbing, except when loose talus falls on your toes! But I've done 20-mile days in my Chacos, with Class 4, snow traverses, and bushwhacking thrown in. It must be interesting to see a dude in sandals with an ice axe.
Tom, you're invited to join me in the Beartooths this July, where the mosquitoes are almost thick enough to be put on maps.
Billions of my little buddies???? You're making it sound almost too good to resist!
