We began at the Elk Creek Campground by the Wilson River and went the long way around on the Elk Creek trail to the summit of Elk Mountain. Almost 7 miles total. After a nice break we descended down the steep Elk Mountain trail back to the campground making an awesome 9 mile loop.The second set of pictures is from the Elk Creek Campground to Kings Mountain Summit via the Wilson River trail and the kings mountain trail.
About 7 miles to the summit from the campground and about 13 or 14 miles total back and forth. Next time I'll just make the loop in a day:)
