Lots of snow!
From Chengdu, I teamed up with another traveller and after visiting the Buddha in Leshan we took the bus to Emei Shan. Bought a map and went up a couple of hours past the monkeys and spent the night in a monastery. The next morning we continued our climb untill we met a Chinese couple coming down the mountain. They slept at a monastery higher up and couldn't continue because of the knee deep snow. Before starting we asked several people and all said it would be okay to get to the top... So we ended up hiking down, take the bus, hike through the snow past even more monkeys and up with the cable car... No views from the summit but we still had a good time although next time I'll leave it for the summer months :-)

beautiful
HIked up the endless staircase and made the summit along with a couple hundred other chinese on holiday. Enjoyed absolutely gorgeous clear skies and views of Gongga Shan.
