Straight up from parking lot  Sucess!

Beggars can't be choosers in Texas; however, this mountain was very interesting indeed; I hadn't seen such a huge mass of pink granite before; definitely worth a revisit. Freshman mountain had some fun class 3, and a lot of cacti to complicate the route finding!

Lovely day  Sucess!

Tx Hill Country highpoint with cool geology - textbook quality granite. If you squint, it looks rather like southern Utah - all pink and orange. Despite Columbus Day crowds, I found a "remote" way to the top with fewer people. If I had more time, then I would return to hike the surrounding trails; I saw no one on them from the top of the dome.

Enchanted Wind  Sucess!

One of the windiest days I'd ever experienced.

Summer Afternoon  Sucess!

Super hot and zero shade. Don't forget water. Even during the heat of the day there were quite a few people up there. Easy enough of a hike though.

Cool place  Sucess!

Stopped here on way back from Big Bend trip. Bigger area than I thought. Lots of scrambling to be had, just avoid the cacti. Worth the stop, nice park, we'll be back.

Enchanted Rock  Sucess!

Hiked to the summit. It wasn't very crowded probably because of the hot weather. This is a neat area to explore.

Springtime hike up Enchanted Rock.  Sucess!

Beautiful warm spring day. The wildflowers were exploding in the meadows of the rolling Hill Country. This is an amazing day out but it is a crowded park.

Three Highest Points  Sucess!

Spent all day climbing to the three highest points in the park. Had a great time and wore out my legs. I had a great time and want to go back with a flashlight so I can check out E-rock's cave.

With lots of folks  Sucess!

We were first turned away by the park because of the multitudes enjoying this unusual rock. We came back later in the afternoon and paid our fare to climb this amazing feature in the hill country.

Slab.....Texas Style  Sucess!

Lots of fun slab climbing on traditional runout slab. What a great time. Had most of the climbing area to ourselves till noon time. Great time with Rockcritter (aka Deb) during our anniversary weekend. Highlighted routes: Boston (5.7), Hartford (5.8), Mark Of The Beast (5.8), MD 20/20 (5.9R)

Finally  Sucess!

Though I was born in Texas and spent much time traveling the State, I had never even seen Enchanted Rock much less climbed it. Well, today was finally the day. Started out with foggy low clouds which made it seem like rain was soon to follow like the previous day. By 10AM the clouds were gone and the climb was on! Clear sunny skies and a stiff 20+mph wind, but none-the- less a great day on the big rock.

Use it as a Treadmill  Sucess!

For a work out we go to E rock once in a while and just climb as much as we can from as many different non technically sides as we can. This day we climbed it 5 times each in under 11 minutes. Good Workout. Then we scrambled around the Kingdom of Zilch.
