"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Fun hikeHiked with Ben during a desert glamping tour. The dunes are very photogenic with a gorgeous golden brown hue. The sand is incredibly fine too. We watched the sunset from the top of one, and sunrise the next day from a lower one.

HotUnfortunately we did not have the opportunity of spending a night at this very special corner of the world, so we missed the sunset as well. We stayed only some hours there, and we climbed the highest dune widh we could see and choose from the berber village Merzouga. Our friend Tibor almost had lost one of his sandals just before three steps in the sand and after five minutes all of us had lost the ability of focusing with our eyes. It was just after noon, the sun exactly above our head, there was not a patch of shadow and in ten minutes we drank all of our water. At the top Tibor was just three steps from a heart attack, because he used to drink just about half a litre of water a day all the time we spent in Maroc...

Sleeping on the sandI visited the dunes of Erg Chebbi in March 1999, after two weeks of hitch-hiking from Hungary. I spent a night on a dune. It was great, but from that night I always found some sand in my sleeping-bag. It was sort of impossible to empty all of it.
