Eric McGee Works Up The First Pitch Of Bear Claw Headwall
Although Kerkhoff Dome sports bullet proof Sierra granite, it is home to many fine aid climbs, many of which were put up by first ascensionist Kenny Rose. Here, Eric McGee (current SSCA president) takes on the first pitch (5.8), which leads to the left facing corner, along the pedistal (right side of the photo). From the corner, the route goes A3 to a wild overhanging wall, then up 2 more pitches mixed with aid and free climbing.
