Hi Moni,
thank you very much for the nice word AND the great pages of the Dolomite formations here on SP. Yeah, I'll try to post some route pages from Dolomites.
Best regards,
radek
Hi Kamil,
many thanks for your good word. Only wish the weather had been more stable... I figured we just brought bad weather with us but perhaps weather IS crap in Dolomites in August?
Take care,
radek
Exactly when you were in Dolomites I was in Montenegro/Albania and it was sunny most of the time... not far from northern Greece, maybe you should've started from there? You still done an enormous amount of climbing in this weather, I can't believe it, great job!
As well written, informative and entertaining as ever. Thanks Radek.
After all that Euro-luxury - huts with meals laid on, comfy beds etc - I would recommend an immediate immersion in bush, say in the Pickets or even on the Island to remind you of the reality of Pacific NW climbing.
Thanks Martin! Yeah, we have been trying to get used to local rock/Oregon choss once again - it's been an uphill process (so far ending in the parking lot - one look at the objective and "no thank you"). Cheers!
Thanks J.,
heard from reliable sources you've been crushing (like the lingo? :) at Smith (not to mention the Sierras!). Great stuff - looking forward to hearing about it over beers in person. One post-climb thing that we missed in Europe were those Margaritas!
Very nice report for an enjoyable trip. I'm glad I helped a little for your trip, though I think I should improve the Meteora page more. Thanks for adding more routes in Meteora.
By the way, the Heiliggeistwachter rappel is 10m lower than the ring you describe, at the end of the groove. Somebody has to roped-downclimb or rappel 10m to the ring described by the guidebook. The higher ring added some years ago, after a fatal accident of a German climber who was looking for the exposed rappel ring.
Hope to spent some time in Meteora page soon.
Cheers from Greece.
