Excuse me - Mister Gore?

Excuse me - Mister Gore?

These fantastic cave colors could only come from one source - the Cave of the Winds in the Manitou Springs area south of Denver, Colorado. Yesir - who knows what lurks within these mysterious depths? Following the transgression of an ancient sea, the Manitou Formation was deposited, consisting of nearly 200 ft. of dolomite and limestone. Today, this formation is red or buff-gray. A fairly humid climate existed during the formation of these caves. Rainwater dissolved the rock and formed sinkholes, caverns and tunnels in the land. This type of landscape is called "karst topography." Excuse me - Mister Gore? Could you please step aside. There's some cavers who would like to explore the inner depths of Nature's masterpiece.
