Fall around Prusik Peak

Late afternoon by Perfection Lake (bottom) in late September. The red in the foreground is provided by huckleberries (Vaccinium spp.). The subalpine larches (Larix lyallii), which are a deciduous conifer, are just starting to turn gold before dropping their leaves. Late September, 2006.
