Forest of dreamsGreat shot kane! Here we don't have whole forests of birch just smaller groups or isolated trees, which is unfortunate 'cause they are so beautiful. I wonder did you fire a flash for these front trees or they were bright enough to look like this against the sun?

Re: Forest of dreamsThis was a magical place, and going forward I have these photos to remind me how much I love fall in the Rockies. I can just hang out in spots like this for hours. It was really cool to see the leaves raining down all over the forest floor. No flash, the sun beaming through was very intense, usually my camera has a little trouble with direct sun.

Re: Forest of dreamsI think, Velebit, that these are Aspen(Populus) not Birch- but it is the same wonderful effect.

Re: Forest of dreamsThanks desainme! Kane told me that later. Birch (betula pendula) here has exactly the same bark look and leaf color as aspen, that is why I though. What my dictionary says aspen is grows on Velebit only as populus tremula but I really don't know if I ever saw aspen here the way it looks in US or I thought it was a birch :-)
