marcy pond is no more :-(

Was up at Marcy Dam last weekend and never thought I would walk the floor of the pond. Sadly the dam has been dismantlled and the pond is now empty. I believe the hurricane in 2011 damaged the dam and it would be too expensive to rebuild to code. Lack of funds and the idea of less manmade structures in the wild has this pond in one's memory.
