Great InfoThanks for posting this. I verified this with my GPS as well. The first time I was up there I thought this was the summit of Baldy. I think most people do. This information should probably be on the main page for Baldy.

I have rewritten the Baldy page after taking it over from the previous owner; I included the information about the false and true summits in the new page.

Bad InfoThis is wrong! The peak directly behind the summit post for Baldy is known as Bridger Peak. The summit post marks the true top of Baldy.

Re: Bad InfoTake a GPS up there and it's not going to say the elevation is 8914 feet. It may be "known as", but it is not the peak named Baldy Mountain with the given elevation on a USGS topo map. MTcutts verified this with his own GPS so I hope you will reconsider your vote and opinion.
