False Summit Scramble
John opts to take a short walk atop snow to avoid side-traversing very loose scree found all over one of the false summits of Birkenhead Peak.
But soon afterwards he had to return to the rockface, and then scramble over boulders and loose scree to the false summit ridgetop.
