Final Slope

Final Slope

Another view of the presumed old crater and the final slope to the top featuring ash dune exertion. The darker rock at left might seem inviting to avoid the ash but it's pretty steep and unscarifiable like scrambling up a glacial moraine. The ash is from the 1980 eruptions of Mt. St. Helens, which is about 30 miles to the WSW, pretty much the upwind direction during the eruptions. Sept. 4, 2016.
