First light on Brunegghorn (3833m)

The sun is illuminating the upper part of the Brunegghorn north face, which is the reason we've come here. The bergschrund is clearly visible. Whether or not it will be easy to cross is too early to tell. Right now we're on the Brunneg Glacier, approaching the Bruneggjoch (3365m) at the base of the NW ridge. On the other side of the saddle we'll first have to descend a little, then go up again. And above the bergschrund it will get steeper and steeper, up to almost 60° right below the top. 6 July 2014.
