First Pitch of the NW Ridge of Thunderbolt

First Pitch of the NW Ridge of Thunderbolt

2010-07-18 - The first pitch of a very LONG route. It's best to scramble up the slabs in the foreground (3rd class) and begin the belay where the headwall wraps around to the left. That way you don't have to belay on a ledge in the middle of the headwall. The ledges are worse for belays than they look.
