Flooded Merced River Above Vernal Falls
It was like a reservoir burst here, as water squeezes between two rocks under the Vernal Falls Footbridge above the Emerald Pool. The torrent of water was deafening, seen here during a 10 year flood on May 16, 2005. Hiking the Mist Trail under these conditions was a highlight we'll never forget.
