The final 375' of Thunder Mountain rises over Coffeepot Mountain, as seen from Cibola Pass to the east. Little known fact while you finish your coffee : Walt Disney owned a house in the Sedona area in the 1940s and 50s. From his place on Disney Lane, he supposedly first viewed the rock formation Capitol Butte, which helped inspire him to build Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Thunder Mountain, (a.k.a. Capitol Butte), and its neighbors also receive torrential rains during AZ's monsoon rainy season, occurring from July-September. July 14, 2010
