Very Nice

The abrupt winter alien pod & Essential recovery aids make for quite a adventuresome parlay.

Re: Very Nice

And I didn't even go into the abduction or Sierra Yeti!

Re: ...Cool report

Glad you liked it- thanks! I've appreciated many of your fine submissions in the past. I'll have to remember the sardines next time- anything to make the SP front page!

Crux? What crux?

Insane that the crux of you trip was the endless flat skiing and not the rock climbing in the dark. Too much fun.

Re: Crux? What crux?

Yeah, the rock climbing was actually the FUN part, ha ha.

Awesome trip Dirk

What a good read and what an outing! You guys did suffer very well on this.
I still remember every painful mile of the approach. Miguel Carmona and I turned around at the base of the SE Butt in February 1997(?)completely exhausted from skiing in and fighting deep snow on the approach to the peak. Congrats to you two on wonderful adventure and a remote winter summit.

Re: Awesome trip Dirk

Thanks, Alois. I actually recall seeing your post on SP about that trip. Indeed epic. The fact that the Sierra hadn't seen snow for some time made breaking trail (where we needed to- there were tracks for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up BUdd Cr. already) manageable. Thanks for your response, & I'll look you up the next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Hope you & Penelope are doing well.

I thought I suffered . . . .

Just did three amazing days skinning up to and around Glacier Point . . . but this one has it beat. something to work for. Thanks.

Re: I thought I suffered . . . .

Glacier Pt. is also a great outing, there's just not quite the same amount of work (suffering) involved. Glad you had a good time up there!

Inspiring

Sad to say, but you make me want to follow in your footsteps!

Great stuff, diggler, beautiful report. If you're in Oakland, I'm good for a beer to honor your hard work!

Re: Inspiring

Cheers, man. I personally wouldn't recommend it (unless you like a lot of slogging & suffering), but I'd be keen on hearing someone else's opinion after doing it. I'm game for a beer- shoot me a PM or email.
