Something to do after looking for records at an antique store in San Juan Bautista

Main Trail
I needed a place to camp in the area for one night and Fremont State Park fit the bill. Since it only takes a few minutes to run up to the top, how could I not do it? Nice campground and quiet even on a Friday night in summer.

With my wife, Nora. Unseasonably chilly and overcast.

Long Traverse
24.5 miles with over 7,700 gain to traverse about a dozen summits on a warm Halloween with Eric. Our long, scenic route made the normal route seem very dull aside from the expansive views. Elk were the wildlife highlight of the day.

Short Hike
Decided to check out the peak on the way home from Henry W. Coe State Park.
The road to get to the parking lot is more arduous then the hike. Real nice views with plenty of butterflies, lizards, and vultures abound

On the way to Monterey
Night hike as I was on the way to Monterey. Parked just outside gate (which was open but I was afraid I might get locked in). Full moon allowed for minimal headlamp usage. Great view of City lights abound. TR is HERE.

Fremont Peak
Hiked up this nice peak after leaving Big Sur. Someone had accidently driven off the approach road and had to be towed out.

Fantastic View!
Did this on the spur-of-the-moment during a lunch stop in San Juan Bautista on the way to Pinnnacles NM. The day was very windy, but the 360 degree view from the summit was spectacular! Definately make an effort to do this very easy (and short) hike if you're in the area, you won't be dissapointed.
