Scenic and interesting route
Although it was a weekday there were throngs of tourists in the Malá Studená Valley. Fortunately, there were far fewer past the hut and none when I got to the saddle about 3 p.m. Above the saddle I ran into one group of (Polish) climbers on their way down, and into another (Slovaks) at Harnaski Zwornik. The latter asked me to take photos of them on the summit and took some of me in return. After they left I stayed a while at the summit enjoying the views and taking pictures. I was back at Priečne sedlo at 5 o’clock, then descended quickly into the Veľká Studená Valley using the cable of the via ferrata without even knowing I wasn’t on the waymarked trail. This I realised at the end of the via ferrata, where there was an information panel. I was at Zbojnícka Hut at sunset. The descent back to Starý Smokovec took me a little more than one and a half hours. It was partly a jog, typical of me, which I must admit I quite like :) : headlamp on, clapping hands and chanting to deter a potential bear. I wanted to catch the 9 o’clock train (I was based in Nová Lesná) and I did manage. (It wasn’t the last train, there was another an hour later and the last was at 11 o’clock!)

Priecne Sedlo
Challenging via ferrata with chains and ladders but no safety line. Not suitable for beginners or people with fear of heights. Pretty exposed at places.

Finally! Attempt #2 Was a Success. (from Téryho chata (Terinka))
In 1998 was I finally able to cross between the two valleys, "Malá Studená Dolina" and "Velká Studená Dolina", via this challenging "saddle".
We (my parents, my sister and me) attempted in before a few years earlier, but we decided to turn around when we realized that the path is blocked by a large oncoming group of people, a backlog that was created due to a long delay caused by a person who "froze" in fear not climbing up nor down and unwilling to let go off the supporting chains and to step his foot one more step forward or backward.
It took a lot of time convincing and support to get the person out of there and make room for others to pass. Passing the oncoming traffic was possible but tricky and some of the people in the group, I was with, refused to even try it.
Fear of heights is nothing to take lightly nor underestimate.
Adventure for me(from Teryho chata),we didn't go to Siroka veza,but only over Priecne sedlo to Zbojnicka chata
In fact we went only to Priecne sedlo(from Teryho chata to Zbojnicka chata),we didn't go to Siroka Veza.We hadn't this ascent in our plan, but I persuaded my parents to go there.It was really adventure for me.We had nice weather.Pass was a little exposed, but I don't remember it exactly, so I can't describe it very well.One thing I remember well-that was (big) beatifull day for me.
