From Rainbow Point

More to the northwest showing the amount of snow covering the area. Rainbow point is over 9000 feet and the park service keeps the road open to it all year. I'd recommend driving all the way to here first and then work your way back towards the entrance, 18 miles away. Then plan on doing some hikes and stuff the next day after you get oriented to this fairyland of rock. 3-27-10
