Hit on the "back" part of an out-n-back run from Woody Gap. Saw it listed on my map and couldn't resist.

AT crosses the summit contour. Hard to know how close we were to highest point or how much brush there was in 1955

AT Section Hike
Heading southbound from Blood Mountain, I made the quick side-trip through the poison ivy to reach this summit before settling on a nice rock for some lunch. It was a lovely day and the Spring wildflowers were fantastic.
