Even though he doesn't love the hiking yet, I'm sure you're already thinking of all the summit opportunities and associated epic trips these climbing skills will allow you two to reach once he finally does get the bug. Trust me, 8 is still pretty young for the hiking thing...so don't panic yet! Fortunately, spring is right around the corner. (Hard to believe Jack is 8 already...)
Wow, I must have missed this comment, Mark. Now Jack is 10! I am thinking of taking him to Wyoming for Memorial Day Weekend to do some granite at Vedauwoo and some snow in the Snowy Range. He got an ice axe for Christmas!
An ice axe? You mean he didn't get an iPhone? That's awesome. So he's 10 years old already...amazing. Enjoy it, before you know it they're 29 and living in downtown Chicago! A father/son trip to Wyoming? Lucky Jack...Lucky Father!
