First time was when I worked as a backpacking guide at the East Fork Bear River Scout Camp. On a weekend in 1991, Josh Mecham and I drove to the trailhead Saturday afternoon. We hiked quickly to Dollar Lake and camped (without a tent). The next morning we quickly made the summit and drove the road back to the EFBR by the 6:00 pm deadline when we were required to be back. The last time was in August 1995 with my wife Kimberly.
Bushwacked our way up just above the peak. Steep ascent, large boulders to crawl up, windy at top. Clear day.
Camped at Dollar, had good weather and also hit Kings the same day.
Had sunny and cool weather at the lower elevations but got windy and colder at the summit.
