During our descent of Philadelphia Mountain, Gimpilator took a short break to admire the avalanches and overhanging cornices on the eastern side of neighboring Mount Index. One of the cornices was massive, probably overhanging its ridge by 50 feet. Photo taken on May 28, 2009.
