Thanks Lisae. They grow around a stone wall in the foothills of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Bees and Hummingbirds work them through the summer and in winter the dried hulls are capped with snow.

Hi Lolli, the diameter of the globes are 2.5 to 3 inches and the plant can stand up to 6 feet tall. This is a well-established group and may be somewhat taller and more robust than average.
