Many ascents of Gobblers Knob. Last time, trail run via Bowman's Fork, making Gobblers Knob before making way to Mount Raymond.
Alexander Basin is a far more interesting (albeit steeper/shorter) approach. Interesting limestone and shale/aggregate formations on display.
We hiked over to this summit after hiking Mt. Raymond. It was very green. There is a nice trail from the saddle to the summit.
Hiked Circle All Peak, Mount Raymond, and Gobblers Knob from Butler Fork with David. The aspen groves on the way up were some of the nicest I've seen, and the views at each summit were great as well (especially looking south towards Cottonwood Ridge). Mount Raymond was probably the coolest of the three (a couple easy short scrambling moves needed near the top). See "Everybody Loves Raymond" trip report for details.
via Alexander Basin. This trail doesn't mess around. Up, up, and away.
06/21/2013 Butler Fork trail head to summit 59:22
06/08/2013 Up from W Ridge Grandeur, Bowman trail, Alexander Basin; then traverse to Raymond, then traverse to Lake Blanche via Mill B North; then back up Mill B N, POrter Fork to Church Fork, then Pipeline back to Grandeur for 40 mile day
06/06/2013 Up from Butler Fork in 1:05:41, then traverse to Raymond
07/16/2011 Traverse from Olympus
07/02/2010 Wildcat Ridge traverse from Olympus and Raymond, from Gobblers went to Reynolds Peak and down Mill D
06/20/2008 via Wildcat Ridge with Joseph Bullough from Olympus to Raymond, then Gobbler's, down Butler
08/24/2006 up from Butler Fork, met my friend J Anderson at the top, who had come up from Alexander Basin
One of my first Utah peaks and a great day, though I learned a lesson about footwear. Desert hiking shoes do not cut it in the mountains. I had a scree rock knock my foot and had to limp down. Charming views and it was vibrantly shockingly green with wildflowers near the summit. I suggest for that reason going in June or July.
Splitboarding w/ Kyle Miller, Bucky, and J.metz. Awesome.
Large snow drifts on the ridge before the summit made for a entertaining hike!
2/16/2013 via Bowman Fork. Appoached from the ridge opposite of Baker's Pass approach. Beautiful day, spent over an hour on the summit.
7/18/2011 via Bowman Fork.
Got scared by a grouse. Heard a rockfall on way up. Saw sun set over GSLake & Cottonwood Ridge. Great success
First Ascent: It's been two years since I hiked this one - looking forward to hitting it again this year. What I remember most was running into what seemed like 5 or 6 false summits before getting to the genuine article. Great hike!
at least once a year I hike it.
5 Dec 2014: latest in the year I've ever hiked it (on snowshoes) - spring-like day with stable old snow.
First 10K I've climbed...Absolutely Spectacular views from the top!
7/16/11 via WildCat Ridge ended at Reynold Peak
July 8: Alexander Basin. Tons of snow left. Had snowfield all to self. Could have used crampons, but step-kicking worked. Excellent glissades back down into the valley. THIS is the way to climb this mountain. Best 5.2 miles I've had in SLC area thus far. Lots of fun for a short climb.
July 6: Butler Fork. Besides the wonderful trail, wildflowers, and great views of Twin Peaks, I most enjoyed surveying the tremendous avalanche damage in Mill A Basin. Plenty of snow still left in the chutes and every aspen near the chutes was bent over at a 45-degree angle if not broken outright.
06/29/06 Did a two-fer, Raymond and Gobblers with Kim, Neo and Samatha

Postholed all the way up and down in June of 1988.
Last in 2010. I've been on the flanks of this mountain many times ski touring in winter.
started at 3:45pm after class. steep trail up Alexander Basin, but very nice. Summitted Gobblers at 5:15pm. Over to Mt. Raymond-summit at 6:00pm. Back over Gobblers and back to the truck at 8pm. Some fun scrambing near the top of Raymond.
Went up with my buddy Eric, his wife Debbie, and our dogs Taz and Stitch. Steep from the start but a fun hike. 3" of snow after Alexander Basin and all the mud and rock to make you feel like a pro. Good hike
