Approach
Start point : Barrage d'Emosson
Barrage d'Emosson can be reached by car, or by funicular from Le Chatelard (French-Swiss border) over Finhaut.
To reach Le Chatelard :
- from France over Chamonix, Col des Montets and Vallorcine (N 506)
- from Switzerland over Martigny, Col de la Forclaz, Trient.
- by train from Chamonix and from Martigny.
Park at Col de la Gueulaz (1960 m) near the dam.
Route Description
Cross the dam and follow the lake on right bank.
Take the path which conturns in the north the chain of the Perrons. The path leads to the Gorges de la Veudale (late snow-fields).
You reach a cairn in the south of the summit of la Veudale.
From here, fatastic view over the Old Emosson combe.
Climb down to the site of the dinosaur footsteps.
From here follow the normal route.
