Route Climbed: from St Huberts Date Climbed: Oct 5, 2003
Oh man what a perfect day. Hiked up along the Ausable from St Huberts. Excellent fall color up high. It had snowed for a couple of days previously and the snowline was around 3,000'. The great range was crusted with snow and ice, making conditions pretty treacherous. We went up Gothics, then traversed down along the great range hitting Armstrong, Upper Wolfjaw, and lower Wolfjaw before descending back down into the Ausable river vallley. Adirondack hiking is so much fun.
Route Climbed: Range trail from Armstrong Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2003
Descended from Armstrong to the col between Armstrong and Gothics. With only a few hours of daylight left and over 5 miles to the car at the Ausable Club, Gothics was still too close and too good to pass up. Enjoyed the easy hike up and the spectacular views from the top. View rating is well-deserved. Was dark by the time we reached the car, a great day for 4 peaks in the Adirondacks.
Route Climbed: from amr big ridge hike Date Climbed: august 31 2002
Dropped our packs in the col and ran to the summit with a camera, and one water bottle. People on the summit thought we were nuts. We didn't let on that our packs were .3 miles below us.
Route Climbed: Gothics via Pyramind (Weld Trail) Date Climbed: Last = May 25th, 2003
One of the premier peaks in the Range and in all of the Adirondacks, climbing an adjacent peak for a view of Gothics is almost as impressive as the sights from its summit. View from the western spur of Pyramind provides great looks at the southwestern slides. Southern route via Orebed is exceptional in winter.
Route Climbed: via Sawteeth and Pyramid Date Climbed: September 1, 2002
This was my second time climbing Gothics (for description of my first time, check the route I posted from Lake Road). Tacked it on after climbing Sawteeth. View from Pyramid is amazing, and the view from the true summit ain't to shabby either. Headed down via the Beaver Meadow Trail. The bus picked us up on Lake Road when we got down to the road! How nice!
Route Climbed: Johns Brook and Ausable Club Date Climbed: July 20, 2002
Have made two ascents of this summit. Both from Johns Brook and Ausable club direction. Incredible views in all directions. One of my favorate climbs.
Make sure to make the trek over to the Pyramid nearby as its view is the finest in the Adirondacks. The views from Pyramid and Gothics is pure poetry for the eyes.
