Grafarfoss in Iceland

Grafarfoss in Iceland

This super climb, Grafarfoss, is 65 m high (3rd to 4th grade). Despite the snow storm and blowing winds there was nowhere I would have rather been!

Sylva....?

I'll take back everything I said! Great job,
and you most certainly earned my respect.

You don't look at this as being a job, do you?
Bonne Annee!!!

Oh, yes.....

... a great job, indeed.
But take care not to drop ice over the head of the climber behind you.
Cheers.

Sylva,

the girl who can smile climbing ice in a blizzard.
What more can I say!
Happy climbing, and may all the best adventures come your way.

Re: Sylva,

Thanks Marc! But what there is no smiling picture of is a few moments before this, I tried to make it through a little waterfall (that would be unfrozen), slipped, only to look up and see my ice axe stuck in the ice 6 feet above with my glove still in it. Oh, and there was freezing water trickling down my face. At that moment, my sense of homor was nowhere to be found!

Re: Sylva,

And, moments after ALL THAT you were smiling again!

Re: Sylva,

Gee, when you put it like that it does sound a bit crazy! Maybe I should have myself checked out:-)

Re: Cool Iceland photos

Thanks! Yes, I really should get around to that report...but just the word report reminds me too much of work! By the way, your Cirque of the Unclimbables is just fantastic!

Mee too

... when it's wild like that, there's no place I'd rather be.

Re: Mee too

Indeed. Iceland is a place I must visit. Though up North in Scotland they had the coldest winter on record (since 1914). And more Siberian weather on its way. This winter already a lot perished in avalanche.

Actually, this pic reminds me of one published in a book. I'll try to post it.
