Grandfather Crest

Took this from an airliner on the descent in to Charlotte on 10-30-07. The Grandfather Crest ridge runs from upper left (Calloway Peak) diagonally to the lower right (includes Attic Window and McRae Peak). The Swinging Bridge area is just right and below of center. The Blue Ridge Parkway meanders to the right of the ridge. The Linn Cove Viaduct (one of the most significant engineering feats of the Parkway) forms the sharp curve above the center. Part of the golf course of the Grandfather Country Club can be seen at the bottom.
