South central ridge  Sucess!

Started in Vallecito Wash and used the old mining trail to reach the central south ridge. The route was easier than we expected however there is a lot of cactus. 3 hours up and 2 down. Hiked with Keith Winston.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Classic east ridge climb. Totally clear day, temps in the 60's. No one else seen at all. No snow but bet the storm coming this week drops a bit.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Hiked it on a sunny, clear day during a dry period with a friend. A bit more challenging than e.g. Coyote Mountain while still very enjoyable, in my opinion.

East Ridge  Sucess!

After Whale Mtn. in the morning. Hit the snow line around 4,000 feet after the big cold storm that had just finished earlier in the day. Lost my trekking poles on the way down. If anyone finds them, send me a PM. Thanks!

East Ridge/Blair Valley  Sucess!

Nice straight forward hike with some scrambling towards the top. Had planned on going after several other peaks after Granite, but had to settle for just one more.

East Ridge variant  Sucess!

No map and a vague description got us to the top but we descended into the wrong wash. 600' reclimb over a ridge got us back to where we needed to be. Fun climb even with the variant.

1 tuff trek  Sucess!

This mountain has no mercy. Very rewarding when standing on top of the summit block!

East Ridge Route  Sucess!

Enjoyable desert climb but found too many house size boulders while descending the east face instead of sticking to the ridge proper. Live and learn...

Route Climbed: East Ridge from Blair Valley Date Climbed: 2/15/2004  Sucess!

A fun desert winter climb from the Blair Valley off S2. Temps were mild, skies were clear, and there was even a little snow on the upper section of the peak. Definately an enjoyable hike, despite the bit of bushwacking near the top. Spectacular views.
