The summit of Granite Mountain is a flat, open park-like area. A very nice place to hang out, but for the views you'll have to head down one of the ridges, or better yet, stroll over to Round Top. October 29, 2006.

Blast from the past

Interesting to see how the summit looked before the fire. A lot of scrub grew within the last 15 years, which the FS recently cut to try and recreate the "park-like" look with a few conifers that may or may not survive.
