Grinnell Glacier Overlook
From the Highline Trail east of Granite Park Chalet, an incredibly steep, 0.7 mile spur trail ascends the Garden Wall to a prominent notch, known as Grinnell Glacier Overlook. Cracker Peak and Mount Siyeh are in the distance, with Mount Gould's northwest face front and center. Tiny Gem Glacier perches high atop the Garden Wall to Gould's right. Grinnell Glacier lies 3,000 feet below Gould's summit in the shadow of the Garden Wall. The Salamander (Glacier) sits to the right of the cliff band that protrudes over the opaque blue waters of Upper Grinnell Lake. Truly a magnificent spot!
There are mountaineering options from this point; high traverse routes exist to both Mount Grinnell and Swiftcurrent Pass.
