This nice view of Grizzly Mountain is seen from the summit of
Mount Rockwell. Crossing the bottom of the frame is part of the approximately 1.5 mile Two Medicine Pass, with Grizzly and Rockwell being the two "anchors." The low point of this lengthy crossing, and thus marked on topo maps as the "official" pass location, can be seen here, immediately prior to reaching Grizzly Mountain. At this point the trail heads to the right, into the wild Nyack, with the cimb up Grizzly becoming a relatively easy off-trail scramble for the last 1500 or so feet elevation gain.
