Steep, tough path...
... from Scharnitz through the woods and into the wide gully.
Loose but easy scrambling to the top. Fantastic views all around.
Saw 2 people on the way up and 2 more as we left the summit.

Traverse (Große - Mittlere - Hintere Arnspitze)
From Leutasch via Riedbergscharte and Achterköpfe to Grosse Arnspitze. Traverse to Mittlere Arnspitze (climbing, UIAA II)
and Hintere Arnspitze. Great day in autumn, met only 2 other climbers.

Via Achterköpfe
Went to Mittenwald with the first train from Munich and ascended via Achterköpfe. Nice views the hole time even within the forrest, which is very beautiful. After reaching the hut I wasn' t alone anymore and meet several nice people. Descended to Scharnitz and took the train back to Munich.

We needed snowshoes on the upper third of the tour.
It was terribly hot when i went up there - and of course, i didn`t find water (except the rainwater by the hut). But it was still great; road from Scharnitz has some steeper parts, but it got more interesting upwards from the saddle. The view from the top were worth for climbing. sadly, i didn´t have time to stay there and was back in scharnitz just less than 5 hours later:S

Route Climbed: Via Achterköpfe Date Climbed: 2. August 2004Ascension from Mittenwald along the flank and the Achterköpfe. Descended to Scharnitz. Beware: There is no water to be found on the Arnspitze!
