H-43 "HUSKIE"

The U.S. Air Force utilized the H-43 to rescue downed pilots from the jungles of Vietnam. They still retained the unusual landing gear with the skis during their SE Asia service. The U.S. Air Force retired them at the end of the war and transfered them to a number of other countries including the Pakistan Air Force.(Photo taken at Air Force Museum, Dayton,OH)
