Nice viewDo most folks approach this via the A66, park the car near Scales and walk along the east side and then approach the mountain by way of Scales Tarn?

Re: Nice viewYou got it right. The draw of Sharpe Edge is enough for most to try that route. My recomendation for a change is to do what the photographer did and take the trip up Halls Fell. Although not as defined as Sharpe Edge it certainly gives a cracking route up. On Halls Fell the summit suddenly comes into view as you clamber over the last few rocks. Brilliant.
