Over a year ago, I sustained a pilon fracture to my tibia on my right leg, leaving me with a permanent injury to my right leg (I will always have metal inside me or other parts external to me to allow me to function in the mountains). I have not let this slow me down - this AFO leg brace that created to allow me the ability to run, climb, hike, etc. This Ruth / Icy traverse was 16mi roundtrip with a 50# pack, and the most extensive test of my new brace to date. It and I performed well on this two day trip with the Bellingham Mountaineers!
