Harsh Times at Elevation

saw this little dude up on the final basalt scree slope on Fremont Peak. This places gets brutalized by wind and cold temperatures. I can't tell weather its a bristlecone pine or a jeffery pine ?!?

That's why Lockett

Meadow Campground is such a great place to camp. It's sheltered and keeps you out of the
wind.

Oh well, maybe next year ...

True that. I wonder when they will be opening it up. I plan on skiing from above Snowbowl into Lockett Meadow to 89a this winter. Hopefully that can happen still
