no hassle for hassell
a large group climb, felt really good today! the 4wd road all the way to the steep, scree slopes helped make the going easier too.

...From Mt. Parnassus
Tagged Hassell Peak while hiking the long ridge from Parnassus. Would have continued on to Citadel but didn't want to tackle the 5th class step on Citadel in the dark.
The two mini-towers on Hassell were cool. Great day!

Butler Gulch
Hiked Hassell from Butler Gulch. Decided to follow the Continenal Divide to the sub-summit, then down the mountain. Easy class 3 scrambling along the divide. I then hiked the 12er, Harrison Mounain, aka "Rad Peak". Was chased off the summit by thunderstorms.

What an awesome (if COLD!) day this was! We had a great little crew, beautiful weather, and the scenery was hard to beat. Best of all, we saw only one other group the entire day - not bad for an area so easily accessible via I-70 out of Denver.

Hassell PeakIn the afternoon, I climbed Hassell Peak from Jones Pass. It was windy, but a nice day otherwise with no threat of thunderstorms.

from Herman Gulchwith Brian and Derek. The wind was vicious; it prevented us from getting Pettingell.
