The color is due to the high mineral content.
The water in Havasu Creek is pretty amazing; When I was there I spent a lot of time sitting by the creek and watching it flow over the travertine dams..

I almost got there!I was on a boat trip through the Grand Canyon and the guy rowing the boat could not 'park' there so we floated on past! I really wanted to see it! Pretty photo. :)

Havasu was amazing but there are ZILLIONS of places that are equally as amazing. It's just so cool to see them all, or even just a fraction of them. Thanks for sharing for sure! Keep em coming!

Re: Beautiful photoThere was a flash flood there this summer. I think a dam broke upstream after heavy rains. I don't think anyone was hurt but they evacuated folks.

Flood in HavauThe flood was in August. I looked at some videos of the flood on YouTube. Pretty amazing!
