Loose rock coming up from sheep lake to the ridge was frustrating but easy from the ridge. Did the shortcut route to and from in one day. Wish we could hit he devil too and some others but the loose rock slowed our roll. Gives us a reason to go back!
Gaia GPS app (I use free version) was extremely helpful with route-finding. Just follow the pretty good shortcut trail to Sheep Lake. Don't attempt the "shortcut" that goes on the ridge by Babel. Really sketchy. The chute from Sheep Lake up to She Devil's ridge was ridiculously loose. In total, from the Seven Devils Campground, it took us ten hours round trip.

Laboring on Labor Day 2021
Overnight at Seven Devils Lake, then 0730 start with college roommate. We directly climbed the ridge immediately behind Seven Devils Lake, and then descended to the High Ridge trail, reached Sheep Lake in 2 hours. 2 more hours to the He Devil summit, decided to ledge traverse on the north-northwest face to the summit. Left a new register up there, there's a hole in the canister. Returned to camp, 8 hours total hike.

Devilish
Traverse from She-Devil to He-Devil, some pretty legit Class 4 pitches, the whole high route from the campground was a beast.

He Devil
Summited via west ridge with my wife and 8-year-old son. Lots of small winged insects at summit. Wonderful fun mountain! We approached via Goat Pass, which was a beautiful hike in its own right, basically a trail with nothing that I'd say exceeds Class 2.
Did the ridge traverse from Baal to She Devil to He Devil.

He Devil
Awesome hike! We took the shortcut route to Sheep Lake and that was really fun and interesting. Camped at Sheep lake a couple nights and endured an incredible summer storm. The hike to the top of He Devil was quite enjoyable, and it was a really nice summit! The only thing about this trip was that there were more people around (by a lot) than any other mountain area I have ever been to and I most likely will not be coming back any time soon. Camping at the lake was tough when there are so many loud and obnoxious groups, at least one of which was well over the group size limit. Very disappointing for such a beautiful place! That is not the mountains' fault, though. These are really awesome mountains!!
Got in late to the very nice and free 7 Devils campground. The "goat" trail is not to be found at 7 Devils lake, but rather past the camp spot just past the single bathroom. Very nice trail to the pass, the scree from in front of Tower of Babel down and then up to the saddle with Baal is only bad on the traverse, the up and down is fine. Fun traverse with the possibility to make it harder by staying direct. The 4th class chimney is solid, but because of the bulge maybe scary for some. Nice ledge traverse to the notch shows the intimidating east face of He Devil off very well. Sheep Lake is beautiful and has great camp spots we wish we got to use. Very fun lollipop loop!

Ridge Traverse
Great Ridge traverse! Started with He Devil, then She Devil, followed by Ball, and ending with the Tower of Babel.
fun day with superdave and sawtooth sean and jammie. Northwest Ridge of He Devil is straightforward and fun. Descent to the He/She Saddle was more involved in some complicated terrain. She Devil from the He/She Saddle also straightforward but a little harder climbing (and some exposure that could probably be minimized with more judicious routefinding). Descent from She Devil toward Mt. Baal was pretty easy (class 2). The descent from the Baal/ She Devil saddle toward Sheep Lake involves some truly heinous scree

7 Devils Traverse
Great day with a fun group. Fun but easy scramble up the northeast ridge of He, then a class 4 descent before heading over to summit She. Love the class 3+ ledge climb up She. Finished the day with Baal and Babel.Trip Report

Mount Baal/She Devil
Took Approach 2B: High Route to She Devil. I thought the traverse to the saddle just north of Tower of Babel was slow and tedious and doubted it was the most efficient route to She Devil. Decided I did not have time for Tower of Babel, but tagged Mount Baal on the ridge traverse towards She Devil. Climbed East ridge of She Devil, then backtracked and descended the scree/talus from the notch just between Mount Baal and She Devil. This descent went slowly on the steep scree and loose talus while I replayed stories of past climber accidents on loose talus. Took the climbers Trail back to Seven Devils CG from Sheep Lake. Very impressed with the ruggedness of the area. Will return some day for He Devil.

Hazy
Climbed with my buddy, Bill. We hiked in and set up camp at Sheep Lake (no sheep there but there was a goat family). Hiked up He Devil thinking we could run the ridge down to Babel but we couldn't find a way down so had to reverse our path back. Very hazy from the fires in the Wallowas, couldn't even see across Hells Canyon to them. Hiked back out the next day and went on to Borah.

Sheep Lake Is The Perfect Climber's Lair
Took the short but gorgeous route from Windy Saddle up the climber's trail and back down to Sheep Lake. Spent the night in a perfect little spot of rock that jutted out into the lake a bit, then summited in the morning. Would love to come back here sometime, set up a "base camp" at Sheep Lake, and tackle a few more of the nearby peaks.

NW He Devil/N She Devil
Solo trip and first good sized solo summits -
Took the climbers trail from windy saddle to sheep lake saturday morning
He Devil:
Climbed via the NW ridge. Got a little confused when crossing the saddle at the north ridge before realize gully crossing was needed to get over the the NW ridge. Fantastic views
She Devil:
Wasnt planning on it but added it Sunday morning. Took the North talus field from sheep lake between she devil and mt baal. Miserable talus (everything is loose). Faint climbers trail from saddle just below the ridge on the north side of she devil. Summited in 1 hour but took 1.5 hours to get down since the climbers path was hard to follow and the talus field was miserable to come down. Great views though !
