head of Mineral Fork

head of Mineral Fork

Unnamed point north of Mt Superior which divides Cardiff, Mineral, and Mill B South Forks. Seen from the WNW before skiing the Room of Doom below it, Jan 17 2009. By skinning conspicuously up the Room of Doom (rather than dropping in from upper Cardiff like tourers from Alta do), vanman798 and I single-handedly (or double-handedly I guess) kept the Wasatch Powderbird heli-skiers from landing upper Mineral Fork that day. I guess they do have some manners. Well, not really. I think they kept flying over us to see if we were still there.

We kept them off that day...

...but Feb 21, 2009 when I was on Cardiac Ridge I saw them land in the exact spot we climbed to Jan 17.

Unamed Point

Isn't this unamed point NORTH of Mt. Superior?

Re: Unamed Point

Yeah, it's cool in that bowl. It was during that time when there was thick rime crust on everything, so the skiing wasn't ideal, but we had a great day.
