Still in a heat wave
The heat wave was continuing, and the weather forecast said that there might be the occasional afternoon thunderstorm. So, I hiked up from Sexten, reaching the summit before noon. It wasn't quite as hot up there, and I leasurely continued along the crest towards the east for a few hours after that, until the skies turned a bit darker later on and it was time to descend. I heard thunder in the distance, but it stayed well away until well after I reached the valley again.

Surprisingly rocky west ridge
First day of the 2009 vacation: we took the cable-car to Helmhaus, then climbed Helm via the surprisingly rocky west ridge, Füllhorn, Hornischegg, Hollbrucker Spitze, Hollbrucker Egg, Demut and Schöntalhöhe. On the way back climbed across Demut, Hollbrucker Spitze and Jochgruben. Wonderful day!
