Henry W Coe State Park

Henry W Coe State Park

View from SSE to NNW from a point on Willow Ridge. Mahoney Ridge is the next one over, and the one I traveled on before crossing Kelly Cabin Canyon and climbing up Willow. Henry Coe is a real gem...it's huge (bigger than the Santa Clara Valley), it's rugged (I did nearly 7000 ft of gain over 28 miles, with most of those miles over relatively flat ridge tops and canyon bottoms), and despite being right next to a metro area of more than 7 million, it seems hardly anybody visits the place (and virtually nobody gets into the back country more than a few miles from the headquarters).
