H = Hidden Peak, M=Monument, BV=Black Velvet. This approach from the west is more appropriate for warmer times. A modest AWD vehicle can make it to the trailheads at Bootleg or Rainbow Springs, which are about 1500' higher (hence 6-10F degrees cooler) than the trailheads to the east.
